UAPs

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (formerly know as UFOs). Nothing new but so very intriguing!

I'm looking forward to the Pentagon's upcoming report but not really expecting much in the way of new information. As Shakespere wrote in his play, Hamlet, "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.” So very true, even at our present stage of technology.

Whether these mysterious objects pop in and out from another dimension or are some sort of robotics, they are definitely here and have been for quite a while.

My nephew has seen them in the night sky and my uncle saw one during daylight hours many decades ago.

Recalling my uncle's account always makes me smile. Dad and I had walked across our pasture fields for a visit with his older brother, Uncle Stewart, a batchelor who lived alone. I believe I was a teenager at the time so this would have been at least fifty years ago.

We were sitting in his kitchen when the topic of UFOs came up. Uncle Stewart said, "Oh, I saw one myself a few years back. I was out with the horse and wagon when this bright, oval shaped metallic looking thing sped along the road and when it came to the Cowan's (a neighbour's) place, turned left without slowing down or speeding up. It sped back the laneway to the bush and out of sight. The horse noticed it too and seemed as surprised as I was!"

"You never told me that story before!" scoffed Dad.

"I told lots of people!" came the indignant reply.

  1. Many years ago Hugh and his Dad sAw one, very early morning as they were setting off for some fishing. It hovered, bright lights, and cannot remember what they told us after that. I will check with Hugh later today and give you an update.

    1. How fascinating, Jean! I'd love to hear Hugh's eye witness account. There is so much of life we are as yet (or maybe will never) understand.

  2. Where am I? I thought I was visiting Buzz n' Flutter and wound up in the Twilight Zone! :^) I liked that exchange between your dad & uncle Florence, how cool what he saw and how long ago was this? Anyway, the older I get the more I'm convinced there is no sentient life out there, at least within cosmic earshot. The nearest society we could relate to is probably somewhere in the middle of the Andromeda galaxy, if that.

    1. That brother to brother exchange was about fifty years ago, Doug. I believe our universe is teaming with life. We naked apes have only recently discovered microscopes and telescopes so shouldn't pat ourselves on our backs too much just yet. We still don't even fully understand how neutrinos work. I'm both skeptical and open minded at the same time. Eyes wide open!

    2. Florence I very much liked your answer! I'm not saying I disagree with you, I think there's an abundance of life out there too--I just meant I don't see an abundance of life as in beings that we could relate to & communicate with in the probable vicinity--as for oceans of microorganisms and alien shellfish & the like in the oceans on Titan, yes I see that :)

    3. I agree Doug, there seems to not be an abundance of galactic beings we could relate to nearby. (I follow Neil DeGrasse Tyson's talks.) Heck, some countries on this planet can't even properly communicate. But really, I love the mystery of it all and think humanity's conceit could use a little ruffling. Looking forward to reading the report when it finally comes out.

    4. "Humanity's conceit could use a little ruffling". I think that's my favorite quote this week. ✨👍✨🙂

  3. I am a more or less believer and kind of hope they make a bold but friendly appearance in my life time. Somehow I think they don't make contact for we are too war like. Can't blame them.

    1. I'd love to see one of these unknown crafts with my own eyes, Patti! If they are piloted by beings, I doubt the creatures would be much interested in us and our primitive (to them) technologies. Still, it does stir the imagination.

    2. I hope if an alien craft touches down on Earth anytime soon, it's on either one of your properties! Do you know I honestly worried one might arrive in the US when Trump was in the White House?

  4. I meant to say I also love mucking about in the garden especially digging for a purpose. Your bridge looks great.
Meanwhile, it seems like there is certainly quite a lot of anecdotal information of sightings that would give us pause on this matter. I will be interested to hear more that's for sure.
